Rwanda International Institute of Ophthalmology in partnership with the Ministry of Health, the Philadelphia Eagles, Fred Hollows foundation conducted a school screening project in the Gasabo district of Kigali. 15 schools had their students and staff receive free vision tests and interventions. A total of 19135 students were screened, with a total of 763 needed interventions. The screening exercise took place between February and March. Children in need to surgical interventions underwent surgery in April. Findings from the project will be posted and available on our website under publications at a later date.
