RIIO Directors, Dr. John Nkurikiye and Dr. Ciku Matenge participated in a successful cataract surgery at Rubavu, between 19th and 23rd June 2016. The activity was a partnership between Himalayan Cataract Project (HCP), Vision for a Nation, Rwanda Defense Force (RDF), local government leaders and Dr Agarwal’s Eye Hospital supporting RIIO. Dr. Geoff Tabin from the Moran Eye Institute Utah represented HCP who contributed most of the consumable needs for surgery.152 patients from Rubavu, Rustiro and Nyabihu districts have been operated.
